Bridgerton star Simone Ashley has revealed that she likes her character Kate Sharma because of her tendency to ‘break the rules’ and refusal to be ‘pleasing the people’.
The actress, 27, revealed her thoughts on her fierce character Kate, now Viscountess Bridgerton, when she spoke with guest host Tiffany Haddish on the show Ellen Degeneres.
He said he liked her character for being ‘opinionated and controversial’, saying he also admired Kate for ‘breaking the rules’.
Speaking on Thursday’s upcoming episode of Ellen, Simone explained: ‘I like the fact that she [Kate] isn’t a pleasant person, and she’s not afraid to stand up and controversy; break the rules a bit.
‘I mean he was there to protect his sister and I wanted to stay faithful throughout the story.’
He also humorously revealed they had to give Austin Pembroke’s Welsh Corgi, who plays Sharma’s pet Newton character, a sausage to get him to do his scenes at certain times.
Appearing on American chat shows, Simone did not fail to impress in a glamorous all -white ensemble.
She showcased her sensational physique in a white jumpsuit, with a keyhole cut, which she matched with a strappy stiletto.
Simone, who has classical opera singing training, highlights her natural beauty with a smokey-eye makeup palette while wearing her brown hair loosely in a wave of glamor.
Speaking to Tifffany, Simone also revealed she moved to Los Angeles after deciding to pursue acting and said her first job was a ‘very small background role in Straight Outta Compton’ in 2015.
He has now been in the spotlight after starring in leading man opposite Anthony Bridgerton, starring Jonathan Bailey, in the second series of Netflix period dramas.
Her character Kate engages in a love triangle with Anthony after she gets engaged to her sister Edwina Sharma (Charithra Chandran).
Bridgerton’s second season hit number one in 92 countries and garnered 193 million hours of viewing time over its premiere weekend, the highest for any English-language Netflix series in its first three days.
Just this month, it was announced that Bridgerton had been renewed for a third and fourth season.
And Simone recently confirmed that she will be back for the upcoming third series, but left Sex Education fans disappointed as she won’t be repeating Olivia Hanan’s character in the comedy drama’s fourth series, saying ‘I’m a Bridgerton girl now’.
